Guys

Thanks for all the work. I have a similar problem with a '91 cab and have wondered if it was worth the effort to chase down. Now I'll track it.

I have a 96 993 Cab. I hadn't driven it for about a month and took it for a spin yesterday afternoon. Sitting at a stop light, I started to roast in the Southern Cal sun and decided to flip on the a/c. The left vent blew cold. The center and right vents blew hot like a blow torch! It was so hot I was worried about the electronics in the dash, including the radio. Any ideas on what the problem may be? It was working fine the last time that I used the a/c a few months ago.......Thanks in advance. Phil in sweating in La Jolla.

Based upon my experiences and quite a bit of searching both here and on the web I would guess that you have a bad servo motor on the rhs. Servo #1 in the link posted by paulnott above. A bad servo may leave the flapper valve open allowing heat into the car. The servos can be had new or from a used parts place.

Good luck trouble shooting.

Cheers,
Dave
