Question Anyone Going To Parade?

Porsche Parade is next week at the Saddlebrook Resort outside of Tampa, Florida. Any fellow 964 Rennlisters going to be there?

Hey C4 Guy,
Great looking roll bar. Hope I can see it in person at the Parade in Tampa.

Thanks! If you're driving in the autocross, you might run into me. I'll be working with the safety team torquing lug nuts.
See you there!

Porsches going 4mph?? Let the Corvettes do it just like in the commercials.

Apparently you've never actually done an autocross or maybe you just suck at it.
Yeah it looks slow, but any good Porsche driver will tell you that it takes a tremendous amount of car control to do it well and greatly improves your skills behind the wheel.

I'll be there with the #53 'wunderbread' car. I've entered it in the Concours and the Autocross as well as the Sebring DE. Should be interesting to see how low it scores in the concours as my only prep was taking it to the Glen for the Clubrace and running it hard for all three days. If they take off 1/10 of a point for every chip, I may end up owing the judges some points

....precisely the reason that I've elected not to enroll in the concours! I've seen photos of some of the cars that enter the concours - simply amazing! I can't fathom spending that much time to prep the car.

Good luck - I hope to see you there!

I was thinking about heading up there to see what it is all about and meet some people in the local Porsche community as I am still fairly new.

If you can break away from work - Monday is the day to do it. That's when the concours will be held. (Schedule of events available at http://www.pca.org/parade/2003 ) It will be like going to a Porsche museum!

My hometown hosted Parade in 2001. It's definitely worth the time to go check things out, whether it's autocross, track events, concours (definitely go see the stuff people bring to this event!) or any of the other activities.

It's pretty cool to see all kinds of people bring their Porsche from all areas of the country.

Sailswish: This is not a parade in the traditional sense where you see a line of floats and fire engines running down your local main street at 4 mph. It's a week long Porsche only event that encompasses many different events that one can do with their Porsche. Go check one out if you are in that area or if Parade comes by you some year.

I'll step up to the plate and take back my snarky comments. Looks like I misinterpreted sailswish's comments.

20mph - Geez Christer all those performance mods you've done sound like they're really paying off! Any more and you may qualify as the 993 guys "Hey Wait For Me Racing" UK ambassador.

Unfortunately I doubt that I will be able to get away from work on Monday. Anyone going to be around on Sunday?
