Default Respray

Well, time marches on. The re-built engine is better than ever, and the time has come for the re-spray. The car is booked into 355 at Dunsfold (home of Top Gear) for a total paint.
Saw it yesterday, bumpers, side trim and roof off, glass and doors next I understand, along with front wings, bonnet and boot lid.
these guys are thorough. We decided to keep the original colour, Amethyst. I'm still investigating the option of 'connolising' the interior, but always on the look out for a replacement in black.
Will post pictures when I figure out how to.
Cheers. Raymond

Hope it all goes well with the respray.

I think that you made an excellent choice by keeping with the Amethyst colour - not one I originally would have selected but, in the pictures I have seen, it has really grown on me!

Raymond; re the seats, it would be well worth sending them off to be done while the car is stripped. Apart from then not getting damaged (dust, paint etc) during the respray, it means that they'll be done when the car is finished.

Leathercare in warrington are amazing; the phrase "reconnolising" makes it sound like a temoporary fix, but it isn't. I had my cab seats done and these guys really know what they are doing.

I've used them too.

They do a brilliant job.

Raymond,

What prompted the respray?? I didn't remember your paintwork as anything but good - but maybe I just missed the detail.

Also, what led you to 355?? Had you some previous experience of their work??

Looking forward to seeing the end result.

Regards

Dave

Dave, hi, sorry to have missed you last week at Walton Hall, but your car was attracting lots of admiring attention, well done.
The reason for the re-spray is, as everything in life, convolluted.
Corinnes SLK needed a little work to the rear bumper and wing, we heard of 355 via Dave (great chap) at Camtune. The quality and finish of their work is first class. When we went to collect the SLK on saturday, Corinne had arranged for Andy, at 355 to keep the Porsche and re-spray the bits that were in need of paint, ie rear bumper, and a few stone chips. I was then offered the choice of leaving the car for the week, for this work, or waiting two weeks, for a total re-spray. having seen the quality of the work they were currently completing, it'll be the two week option! What a great girlfriend eh!!
Cheers. raymond

So what's the cost of a full respray at 355 (minus roof I guess!)?
