Targa Bar Paint?
My Targa bar looks a little drab -- plus it has a scratch or two -- presumably my best bet is to get it repainted, correct??

Hi Jeff,
I did the repainting on my targa bar and it came out just fine. My feeling was I would try it and if I really screw it up I can always take it to a shop and have them fix it (for some big $$'s)
I did it with a rattle can of good quality satin black paint, prepping the area really well and then I sprayed a light tack coat and the three more wet coats allowing time for complete drying in between.
If you like the bar a real dull satin black you can leave the finish as is or you can buff it out and add a little gloss effect to it.
I detailed all of the steps on my web site http://members.rennlist.com/5150targa.
Hope this helps !

Hi Jeff,
People may scoff at this, but I used Amour All on mine, and I'll be damned if it
didn't return the gloss to what was a faded-looking targa-bar.
I had been thinking of painting the targa-bar ... not anymore. It looks that good.

Greetings -- figures you'd know another way to skin this cat. I'll try your method first. I also have to replace the Taga bar seals. That should be fun. Thanks.
