964 Repair Manual wanted
Where can you find a comprehensive repair manual for a 91 964? I've found 989-1994 Technical Data—Without Guesswork™ and it's description says it contains repair overviews but is it any good? I did find the Porsche Carrera 964 & 965 89-94 Technician's Handbook Without the Guesswork by Bentley Publishing and grabbed that, still need good manual.

I hate to sound like the pirated software police, but this site can get into real problems with legal issue by permitting the discussion of illegal, copied, pirated software like the stuff offered at the site mentioned above.
Porsche has never issued workshop manuals on CD so any version is an illegal copy. PET, the parts listing, is on CD and sells for about US$40.
The real workshop manuals sell for US$1200 and are out of print.
The "Technical Data—Without Guesswork" book has been discussed here before and the consensus was that is was not worth the money as a DIY manual.
Adrian Streather's book is the "964 Enthusiasts Companion" and worth every penny.

I just bought the book (not even owning a 964, but it's very interesting) for summer reading and waiting for the 993 book. I can warmly recommend it, but it does not cover the car 100%, but you sure will learn a lot about the 964.

The Bentley Technical Reference book is not meant to be a service manual. It's a collection of technical data on 964's (note several of us on Rennlist provided input to it), and combines data from the Factory manual and the Technical Specifications book. You may want to keep an eye on ebay as the factory manuals come up for sale now and then. If a PCA member, you may want to put a wanted ad on both the PCA website and Pano. Adrian's book is a very good resource, however, if you can get a copy of the factory manuals, they are worthwhile, if for no other reason that they have the wiring diagrams. (The 964 Factory manual is one of the poorer ones - when Porsche faced budget issues in the late 80's/early 90's that must be where they cut resources). Stoddards has advertised in the last two issues of Pano that they have the 964 manuals for like $900. You could also try one of the other discounting Porsche dealers to see if they can get them and at what price.

Stoddard Porsche is selling a full set of workshop manuals (Pano advertisement IIRC) for $900.
You can also get them in the PCA Mart, in the misc section, for a lot less.
I will invoke my rights under the 5th Amendment for self-incrimination regarding my factory workshop manuals

For the record the 993 factory manual is not much better than the 964. Lots missed out.
The 993 book is in the final edit stage and the 911SC is at the printers. Cannot say anymore because of the new commercial rules on Rennlist.
Ciao,
Adrian.
