Post Changing airbag steering wheel

I´m currentlty into a projeckt with my c2 -1992 which include changing steering wheel from the org. airbag wheel, burgundy coloured to a
org. airbag wheel in black.
I just found one but my question is. Do all the airbag wheels for the 964 fit? Or are there any differences between 1990-1993? If the wheel comes from a 1990 does it fit my 1992? and if so, How do I check if it is a wheel from 1990,1991, 1992 or 1993. It´s quite a few dollars so I don´t want to spent it without knowing in advance....

Hi Felix

I beleive that all 964 steering wheels are interchangable. From 1989 c4 to 1994. The 993 steering wheels do not fit though.

Regards
Rob

Felix, I believe Rob is correct - 964 wheels are interchangeable irrespective of Model Year.

That said, Porsche indicate that airbags themselves need replacing after, I think, 12 years. If your 1990 wheel has the original airbag then that is something you might want to consider - especially if it is expensive.

When I changed my wheel out I went for the AJ-USA airbag wheel with the Porsche crest. It was not cheap at a little under $600 but (a) it has a new airbag and (b) it is way nicer than the original (IMHO). I've no connection with AJ-USA apart from being a satisfied customer.

Whatever you decide - Good Luck

And I *believe* Pelican have those wheels but without the airbag (called the 930S wheel, IIRC) for about $250, although the crest and the adapter you may need are extra. Again, no affiliation...
