Question Oil Light on Braking

Dear all,

I have a 1990 LHD 964 C2. Over the past few days, the oil warning light has started to illuminate during medium to heavy braking. The light remains illuminated for 12-15 seconds, then goes out. There is no evidence of a real problem - oil pressure remains good and the level and temperature gauges also show nothing abnormal. I thought the oil level may have been a bit low, so I topped up to about 3/4 up the dipstick and it made no difference whatsoever. I was wondering whether a non-return valve in the oil circuit was mal-functioning or something. By the way, the car has covered 167kkm and had a top end rebuild at about 150kkm. The engine is running on Mobil1 and has been for at least the last 4 years. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

O.

Wink

Might sound like a stupid question: but are you sure it's the oil light?
