Default 964 a/c bracket

I'm putting a 964 engine (no ac) into my '88 and want to keep my ac compressor. it doesnt appear that my mounting bracket will work from my 3.2. any thoughts?

if I source a used 964 bracket... are they all the same? thanks!

Bernd,
Unfortunately the 964 has two brackets, one for A/C (964-126-026-00) and a chopped (non-A/C) version (964-115-011-02).

Here is the bracket for the A/C compressor

and here is the chopped non-AC bracket:

Jason,

Thanks for the response! After a good bit of searching yesterday... I found that out for myself. Now I just need to source the A/C version so I can get this puppy back together.

Jason, when you chopped that, what size cheese-head bolt did you use to replace the one to the right of the pulley (the one no longer attached to the perch/bracket)?

Garrett,
My car came with the shortened (non-A/C) bracket from the factory so I have no idea and I've had no luck finding the bolt in PET. I suppose I could remove it and measure but I don't know what it attaches to and with my luck...

Spotted this on Ebay and know it's what you are after! Shipping should not be too expensive as I have shipped items to the US lighter than this item for around £35.

Hope this helps.

adrian,

thanks for the link. since it was holding up my 3.6 swap, i ended up buying one from a used parts place here in the states. in this case, it was worth a little extra $ to get it here... arrived today.

thanks again,

bernie
