Does anyone have the serial number range for 1990 US C4s? I have a 90C4 Cab and the number is not in the range given by a book I have called "Original Porsche 911" by Peter Morgan. In fact my cars number is outside the range for any 1990 C4 according to that book.

My Porsche Red Book lists the VIN Range for 1990 US Cabriolets as:

WPOCB296CLS470001-0673

This book does not break down VIN's by C4 or C2, just by body style (Cab, Targa, Coupe).

My C2 Coupe with a build date of Jan 22, 1990 is also outside the VIN range.

So, do you have a different digit for the model year? Not L? Or is it something else?

The last 4 digits of my VIN are 1504. The range for the last 4 digits on a 1990 US Carrera coupe have a range of 0001-1317.

The last four digits of my VIN are 0988. But I guess this is not uncommon after all.
