Badcar... Welcome to Rennlist! I remember a similar wait... And then I had to go to Florida for a conference when my car finally did show up. My wife called me, put the phone down, revved the engine, slammed the door and told me how beautiful the car was! I could hardly wait to get home.
What I learned this week... PAY MORE ATTENTION TO WHAT I'M DOING!!! I made another attempt to change my hood struts. I made a special tool to ride down the shock and pop the retaining clip. Before I cut it to length I had to try it out. The other end fell over and scratched my front fender! I think I can polish it out but I'm still steamed!
rick, you do know that just a flat screwdriver will also do the trick, right? too bad about the fender; let us know how the struts and fender turn out.
Leaving a turn signal on overnight will drain the battery. I heard the warning chime yesterday and couldn't figure out what it was for. I must have brushed against the stalk getting out of the car.
When the stalk is up (right turn) my dash lights come on as does the chime, down (left turn) I only have the chime. Oh well.
At least my battery will have a full charge for the ride to Hershey.

I learned once more not to get too cocky, In wife's '91 cab I installed a new XM radio, repaired the slides on the pax seat so it actulaay moves, fixed the pax window that was stuck in the up position (big job), than took the wife out to dinner in a neat mountain community of Shaver Lake at 5300 feet. Car ran like a dream. The SOB is now sitting in wife's working parking lot after failing to light off on Friday afternoon, leaving her stranded at work. CRAPO!!!!! What a piece of trash. I'm going to buy a Corvette.
A little perserverance goes a long way. Having decided to replace the filter to thermostat oil line, I was sweating trying to get the nut to move. Gave up and sat there thinking why can't this job just work out for me today. In true Brit fashion, had a cup of tea , and low and behold on the next grunt it moved - Yippee!! Will spend the next few days reconditioning the oil tank, as there are a few rust spots etc.
I've learned that the Carrera GT sounds like an Indy car at high revs and is rather quiet at low revs. There was one here in Lexington for the opening of the Porsche dealership. Wicked.

Chris, my wife and I got to drive behind one on our spring tour a few weeks ago. Isn't that car awesome?
I went to Spa in Belgium to follow an intensive course of French. Wow, what a difficult language that is! Never the less it was a great week, learned a lot and met many nice people.

OK, so I'm not going to trade in wife's 964 for a Corvette. I remembered that I bought a spare DME relay. I switched it today and wife's car fired right off. Life is good. I'm going to order a new spare DME relay. These cars have a bunch of things that can cause them not to run properly. But when they do their proper thing, they are really sweet.
