Post LWF Conversion, Confused got a head ache!!!!

Hey All,

I hope I can still type, took 2-500mg tylenol before posting this.

Ok OK, My parts finally came in for the LWF Conversion on my 90 C2.

Here are the parts that came in:
26 items total

1-LWF 964.102.239.31
1-Ring gear 964.114.143.31
1-Pilot Bearing 931.102.111.00
1-T/O Bearing 944.116.080.01
1-Guide Tube 950.116.813.30
9-LWF Bolts 928.102.151.01
9-PP Bolts N-014.715.3

1-Sachs Clutch 964.116.011.61 (Sachs Part # 1862.323.031)

1-Sachs Pressure Plate 964.116.028.90 (Sachs Part # 3082.213.133)
or
1-Sachs Pressure Plate 964.116.028.91 (Sachs Part # 3082.213.132

Questions:

1. Is there anyway to verify the actual Sach Clutch being a 964.116.011.61? It shows that part # 964.116.011.61 on the box, but the clutch itself has a # 1862.323.031. Is this the correct clutch?

2. I had requested for a Turbo Pressure Plate Porsche Part # 964.116.028.53 (14K-15K Newtons) for greater holding power. Instead they provided me 2 options and said that the part # 964.116.028.53 (sachs#???) is replaced by part # 964.116.028.90 (sachs# 3082.213.133)(10600-11500 Newtons) or 964.116.028.91 (sachs# 3082.213.132)(12500-13400 Newtons), Newtons figures according to post of Cupcar.

Is this replacement true?????

I had a used Turbo Pressure Plate before that had the part # 964.116.028.53 not made by Sachs. Branded symbol of (de) TURBO.

Comparing the the 2 sachs and they looked exactly the same except the part #'s.

Comparing the 2 sachs pp to the (de) TURBO pp shows, the (de) having 3 sets of (4 stacked leaf springs on the sides) whereas the 2 sachs only have 3 sets of 2 stacked leaf springs.

email me at KZ1L59@yahoo.com i can provide pics.

Also does anyone have the Sachs part # for the 964.116.028.53 (965 Turbo/3.8RSR)
(ex.Porsche Part # 964.116.028.90 w/ Sachs # 3082.213.133 & 964.116.028.91 w/ 3082.213.132.)

I've check all the internet sites and all the Rennlist archives.
Any help would be great, The shop who's a good friend of mine is willing to do anything to get the right parts so all the help from the Rennlist guys/gals would be really appreciated.

Thanks GP

GP,

This is borderline useful, but I took a quick look at some catalogs and it appears that the Sachs "performance" clutch is the same for the 964 and both 965 variants. The Tweeks catalog also lists the same part number for the 993 n/a and turbos.

Perhaps an expert or "tuxedo" can chime in, but I knew the 993 and 964 clutch parts were interchangeable. What I didn't know was that the turbo's could also use the same parts.

I think that might be the answer to your Sachs' part number question.
