Post 90 C-2 Will not start

This morning it just will not start. Just turns over and over. I don't drive it often. Once a month or so for around 10 miles. When I last drove it all was fine. No maintenance has been done since I last drove it. Just won't start. After several attempts the battery started getting weak so I put the charger on it. That is where it sits now. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I have both the factory manual and the new bentley manual and do most of my on work. I don't have a Bosch Hammer so I can't pull the codes. Really don't want to have it towed into a shop. Thanks mark

I take it that you have some gas in the car?

Seriously though, it is quite common for a faulty DME relay which controls the fuel pump etc. to cause this. You may want to try a replacement. It is in the front fuse box (position R41 I think). This relay is only about $20 too. Remember to disconnect the battery before replacing though, & take your C2 for a spirited 20 minute drive afterwards, without turning off the engine to let the DME re-program itself.

Thanks Andy,
You’re all over it. I have it running. Strange though. Before I had a chance to read your reply I did some testing and jumped the 87b to 30 on the R41 relay to manually turn on the fuel pump. The pump came on. Then the car started. Let it idle for a bit to make sure the system was turning on the pump and then took it for a drive. All was well. It's cooling off now. Think I'll replace that relay for good measure. Mark

Mark,

Glad to hear that you've got it running! How do you manage to only drive it once a month????? I can't help but drive mine at any poor excuse!!!
