Has anyone tried to adapt the classic RS front bumper to a 964? Looks like front fenders and hood are the same geometry but don't know about what is underneath newer chassis.
Thanks,
DR

Everything from the cabin forward needs to be modified. You will need fenders, hood, bumpers, structural supports, a lot of cutting/welding/sleepless nights, oh headlights, horn grilles and numerous other things. In other words, it's not really worth it, especially when the back of the car is 90s.

what about the '74 and later RS style front bumper cover?</strong><hr></blockquote>
I think Zamirz's comments hold true until the 964RS. You'll have better luck with the rear and ducktails but there are a LOT of threads on that.

When Porsche brought out the 964, they said roughly 85% of it's components were new, which will make it difficult to build on. If you want to construct a 73RS out of something with more modern underpinnings, you might consider using an 84-89 Carrera. Of course if you already own a 964 and just want to replace the front, you may want to contact vendors that sell the fiberglass replica's.
One other consideration, those slats on the 964 front are part of the system to route air to the oil cooler and a/c condensor. Assuming you can figure out how to graft a 73RS front onto the 964, what effect will the 73RS front opening, which I believe is smaller length-wise, have on oil cooling/a/c? This is important, as the 964 only has one oil cooler, with none on the engine as with the pre-89 911's.
