how do i remove ignition coils??

Default how do i remove ignition coils??

hey guys, my primary ignition coil is shot, i was trying to remove it but couldnt.
does anyone know how to get it out??

You need to remove the cover from the fuse/relay box and then remove the nuts that hold that onto the side of the engine compartment. Once that is out, getting at the bolts that hold the coil bracket down is pretty obvious.

There are 2 or 3 allen head bolts that clamp a bracket around the coils. The bolts have access holes in the front plate drilled so you can do it without removing anything. When you loosen these bolts you can then slide the coil up and out. You can remove other things to get better visual access, but it isnt required. I had more trouble getting that plastic cap off the coils themselves than changing them.
