Has anybody used any type of waterproofing stuff on their Cab top lately. I noticed when I rinsed it off this weekend it have no water beading at all. It doesnt seem to leak but I doubt that water soaking into it could be very good.
Also how often do you need to reapply it? My blue is a bit faded but not to worried about that as I am afraid redying would probably make it worse in the long run. I have seen stuff Porsch sells but wondering if there was something as good or better aftermarket. TIA

I use the Porsche stuff every year... a bit of a nasty process since I cover the whole car with one of those plastic covers for painting to avoid the overspray on the paint, glass, and plastic rear window.

I use the factory top protectant each year. I usually buy two cans and spray an extra coat on. I agree with Wachuko, the process of masking off the rest of the car is a huge hassle.
I've heard good things on Rennlist about Haartz RaggTopp but never used it myself. Its main benefit is you don't have to mask off the car nor windows. Next time, I will give it a try.
No affiliation to either company above.

I guess I am the hoosier of the group or else just cheap, but I just used plain old automotive Scotch-Guard on my 944's roof. Still have to mask off the window and paint though.
I would imagine most all the different water repellent/proterant sprays for canvas are about the same with a different label so you can charge more. (IE Porsche) I am going to check out a high end car care place near me friday and see what they reccomend also. When its sprayed on does it bring back any of the color or luster of the top and does it streak if not done just right?

Yes. The Porsche top protectant does make my car's black canvas look better (blacker).
Went to the Pcar dealer today and they sold me RAGGTOP cleaner and protectrant in a kit. With tax and PCA discount it came out to $30. I looked on line and to my surprise they were cheaper then I could have ordered the same after shipping. I will do before and after pictures and post back how it works.
Looks like a couple hour project.
