Post Valve Adjust - While I'm @ it

Hi All

In planning the valve adjustment I was wondering if there is anything else I can do while I'm in there that anyone can suggest. Like replacing other gaskets / seals which tend to leak. Would the cam covers (I think that's what they are) at the front of the engine be accessible?

Thank you in advance

Definitely do the power steering o-ring and cam seal on the passenger side front. It's a tight fit, but can be done with the motor in the car...

BJ, please do a search on this subject...it has been addressed SEVERAL times.

Not that I mind "rehashing" certain items, but this subject certainly has ample information returned in other posts.

...far more than I can type at the moment. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" />

Attention to the power steering assembly is a good start, so is a new "O"-ring in your thermostat, located towards the center of your engine, closest to the bellhousing.

Good luck!

If you decide to do the power steering seals as I have just done, a little tip on loosening the allen head nuts behind the power steering pump. Tighten the hex head bolts in front of the pump a tad,it takes a little tension off the allen heads in the back, I did this for the second nut I removed and it was much easier to remove than the first one due to the limited space to work in.
