Post '93 - '94 Wide Body C4 Coupes

How many wide body C4 coupes were made for sale in the US in '93 and '94 model years. PCNA tells me that they made only 67 C4 coupes in '93 and 267 in '94. Were these all wide body cars

I could be wrong, but I think all C4's in 1994 were widebody. I don't think that all C4's in MY '93 were widebody.

Someone is sure to correct me....

PS I have to ask: 99duck? What does it mean?

Bruce Anderson answers this question in the lastest issue of 'excellence' (Feb 2002 issue). He states that 345 Turbo Look cars were imported into the U.S. for 1994 (all were C4's). He also states that "740 Turbo Look Carrera 4's were built for the European market the year before, but none of these came to the U.S.".

Dear Jay,
911 Anniversary or C4 Turbolooks were built and sold in the ROW (not USA) in model year 1993. Believe it or not, most have been tracked down including serial number 911.
The Turbolook C4 for the USA was only built in 1994 and BA must have excellent contacts somewhere because not even the PCNA could accurately tell me how many were imported in the USA as against Canada and elsewhere that they went. Porsche say they built 456 in total. However this could have been the allocated VINs not the number actually pushed out the factory door,
Ciao,
Adrian

PS: The USA only C4s built in 1993 were 1994 models. Do not get calendar years and model years mixed up. They were also all option M718 or converted VIN 911s as well. All were built on 1992 and 1993 model year turbo bodies and chassis.

so, what do you guestimate a nice 94 C4 wide body, 964 might be worth...excellent condition, 83,000...?

I sold a 100K mile one of those for 25K a couple of years ago, they are not worth as much as you might think given their rarity.

They just never caught on to the same popularity as the SC/Carrera.

My 91 964 C4 has virtually the same value as a 83 SC in similar condition. However, in a lot of respects the 964 is a much better car. I drove a few of the older cars before landing on the 964 I got. In fact, one guy only had his SC for a couple of months and it scared the bageezus out him so he was bailing on it. The guy basically said, "I drove some cars with oversteer, but this car scares me. It is just not suited to my driving style" He was a BMW guy, who always wanted a Porsche.

My guess would be ~$30K given the current market.

I had a WB 964 (all US MY 1994 C4's are widebodies) and the common guestimate on units sold in the US is anywhere between 138-250. Given the number available for sale at any given time, it is a relatively low number whatever the number might be. That said, their value is not commensurate with their rarity.

456 Carrera 2 and Carrera 4 in MJ 1994 USA - i have proved VIN for "262" C4 Widebodys in 1994 - none found for 1993 MJ USA.

" 13" for Canada ( M139 )
"254" for USA ( M484 )

... sorry , but lots of often repeated mistakes in your statement, Adrian ...
