I use the Tube (aka underground or subway) to go to work so unfortunately I almost don't drive during the week. I also have another car, so the 964 ends up getting used only once a week on average. If I could have my choice I would drive it at least 3 or 4 times per week.

Having said that, in the 4 months that I've owned it I've already managed to put about 2000 miles on it.

Dear Riccardo,
My 964 C4 is driven every day, for work, for shoppping and for pleasure and even a taxi sometimes. Rain, sun, snow, ice no matter what. The only time it is not driven is if I am sick or I genuinely do not have to go out, or my wife has it,
Ciao,
Adrian

Well, I've only had mine for about two months now, but here is what I've done so far.

Drive it when it's not raining (that's what the other vehicles are for), and keep it garaged for the winter. Don't want that nasty salt on her. That also helps a little bit on the insurance costs!

I'd consider my 964 to be a "seasonal" driver. When the weather's nice, everyday.

I drive mine almost every day and any chance or excuse I get. These cars were meant to be driven not babied. I don't understand how people and leave them in the garage and spend more time fussing over cleaning them than driving them. They probably never even experienced the rush of power from 5500rpm to redline.

But true winter will be here and it will unfortunately be parked for a few months. BTW: Driving truck sucks.

My 90C2 is the only car I have and I drive it everyday and weekend. I put about 30 to 40 miles daily.

I have other vehicles so My 964 is a garage queen. It is a 1990 with 15k on the clock. I would love to drive it more, but free time is so hard to come by. New Years resolution: more free time.

I drive my '91 C2 cab to work once or twice a week (usually Fridays), and dream up excuses to drive it everywhere on weekends. Like GeoC2Cab, I'll go for long distance drives through the countryside with the destination being less important that the trip. Two of my favorites are Route 66 to Skyline Drive in the Shenandoa mountains and Route 50 over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and over to St. Michaels, MD. I've also taken my car on vacations to Cape May in the summer.

Hi all,

Drive my 91 C4 in the weekends and occasional evenings all year round, do about 4K per year mostly around London but usually 1hour trips. Far different to driving in NZ.

35K on the clock so far. It's my only car. Its holding up well, but it gets a LOT of money spent on maintenance/preventative maintenance.

I generally take the train to work, but other than that, I use my 964 anytime I need to drive anywhere, all year long, even in Chicago winters, including about once a week to work.

My RS America gets out 2 or 3 days per week... my commute is lacking in any real corners or fun stretches, so I usually end up in the Toyota 4X4 (176K and still counting). Weekend rock climbing trips (mountain roads) and the occasional DE are much more fun applications of the RSA, so I save it for that. Had to wish for the RSA this morning though... I arrived early at work to find the parking lot empty, but covered in sheet ice (Very rare for Tucson). Parking the truck (with almost no steering input) after a few sideways laps was great, but Oh the fun I would have had with the RSA.....

I drive my 964 just about everyday especially weekends. I only use the Maxima if heading to a bad part of town, if its raining or if I screwed something up while tinkering with the p-car. Average about 150-200 miles a week.

Following from the other post - I admit it - I originally bought my car for status. It was all I could afford, and the other choice was a new M3. At the time (2+ years ago), I heard about the new 333hp engine and I decided not to buy the M3 with "only" 240hp.

So I ended up with a 1990 C4 cab, used as a daily driver - in Boston traffic! I kept my Celica for the winter, but I never drove it! I lover the P-Car too much. Anyway, now married, I carpool in the wife's car (330i) and the 964 is just a weekend car. So, I bought it as a status symbol, used it as a daily driver, and converted to an enthusiast, with a full schedule of Autocross and Driver's Ed (21 DE days this year). Because my wife also does the DE in the 964, it has about 5000 track miles and 5000 road miles this year.

Last point - I keep waving to other Porsches, without many responses. My wife says its dumb to wave when they almost never wave back (about 10%). I figure that it is such a short time transpiring as you drive by, that if the other car waves, I may not have a chance to get my hand up, and then the other guy will be calling me a snob...
