Post h4 headlights on 964

Hi Folks,

Has anyone put the h4 headlights on the us version of a 964? Do you need to replace the trim ring or not? Some people say you do and others say you don't. I'm curious to hear from people who definitively know or have done it themselves.

Thanks,

Boris

I'm puttin H-1's on mine. The fitting is very similat. If you want to color match the rings to your car, you will probably need a set of rings, as well as the two piece screws to hole things together. These screws are expensive, about $10-15 per side. Th rings are also expensive, and I am pretty sure the H-5 rings wont work. Also, you need to modify the plug. you can just whack off the existing plug, and get a female plug from a junk yard and wire it in. I have a couple of these, and was planning to find the high/low/ground on the existing wire harness, scrape insulation, and wire in my junkyard plugs so I woulden't have to cut off the originals. That way, if/when I sell the car, I will keep the H-5's. I just got a Holiday catalog from AJ USA, and notice that for $(.00 they sell an adapter plug. I think I'll give them a call, because that would even be simpler.
