Default Vibration felt in clutch pedal - Cup Clutch

I've searched this one, and couldn't find anything in the threads:

I had my clutch replaced (cup clutch), and my LWF turned about 2 months ago. When I accelerate through 2nd gear and shift to third (in other words, shifting at a high RPM), I'm feeling an odd vibration in the actual clutch pedal. The brake fluid is full (I believe it feeds the clutch also), so I'm not sure if there's a problem or if this is normal for this clutch. Any thoughts?

Thanks - Chris

See if you can find another car with the cup clutch and take a drive. I am assuming that you changed to the LWT flywheel . I know my LWT flywheel lets a lot more vibration than the DMF.
Keep us posted.

I have a factory 964 Euro Cup car and haven't experienced what you described.

Perhaps something is out of round, out of flat when it was removed, turned and re-installed. Was it an issue before? What was the reason you had it turned? Were you experiencing slipping?

Do you have it only 2nd to 3rd?
Is it at a specific RPM no matter what gear?

It's a bit odd, as there is no direct mechanical (cable, linkage) connection between the clutch pedal and the slave cylinder...it's just hydraulics, which I would not associate with what you describe.

It vibrates more with higher RPMs. I'm played with a bit over the weekend on my trip (7.5 hours each way), and it definitely is a vibration throughout the car that I'm feeling on the clutch pedal. At times, it does not do it though. The clutch is fairly new, perhaps something isn't tightened down from the install. I'll keep you guys posted - Thanks for the feedback!

If you feel it throughout the car, are you sure it isn't tire pressure/balance related? (through the steering wheel, check the front tires, through the seat-rest of car, check the back tires....... just a thought)

Good point.
Try and determine if the vibration is RPM related or Speed related.

After re-reading the thread, you mentioned your LWF was turned....I'm assuming it was done on a lathe and resurfaced?
If so and if the vibration was apparent immediately after re-installation, then perhaps it was turned out of round?

I don't think I'd drive it very long in its current state. All the vibration you described isn't doing the driveline any good. Bring it back and have it inspected.

Good luck.

Could be a few things, out of balance tires, warped rotors, low brake pads or on backing plates cv joint or bearing failure. Start with the easiest, the brakes.

It is RMP related, so I can cross off anything to do with moving parts (It does it in the drive way in neatral. It is slightly worse at speed though. More on this over the weekend.

Thanks again to everyone - this should be interesting.

They tightened up the mounts and it mostly went away. I think it ended up being drivetrane vibration felt through the pedal. Crazy, these things!
