Couldn't agree more - I have a 'holy' airbox cover & the noise under load is delicious! You just find yourself blipping down the gears more and more to savour it upon accelerating again!

Converted my drilled airbox today to a cutout version (thanks to Jon's inspiration when comparing his C2 with my C4.) I don't have his bypass pipe, but the cut version gives more growl over a larger RPM spread. Here's a pic during the cutout process (also showing my simple jigsaw with fine-tooth blade)...



And here is the finished product...



Come on! Cut out those holes and loose the trumpet!
