Well, I'll be damned. After following the links at Anson's US Website, I was able to find the below at Model Car Zone for only $19.95 plus $5.95 shipping. A whole lot less than 75 euros , and just placed my order.

Model Car Zone's website says "everything on our site is in stock," so we'll see if it ships.

I also sent an e-mail off to Anson's US distributor, asking if they could locate the white 964 Targa for me (see above photo). At only $19.95, I don't mind purchasing a second (well, third) 964 model.

Received my 1/43 scale black Targa today (see above photo). Nice, but (of course) on the small side. Look forward to picking up a 1:18 model ... especially since the wife has a 1:18 model of her Miata .

Finally, in the latest issue of Excellence magazine, Sunset Porsche is advertising the 1/43 scale 911 Targa Evolution set for "only" $129.00 (dealer cost) + 15% ($19.35), if anyone is interested. Since Sunset sells everything at dealer cost +15%, suspect they may have the coupe or cab evolution sets for a similar price.

Here in Hong Kong, there are many toy stores which readily sell die-cast models of various sizes. I have seen 993, 964, 996 race and street cars for sale. Once, I even saw a 550 Sypder.

I have collected 1/18 diecast models for the last 10 years of various auto makes, including Porsches and Ferraris. Total number is close to 40 model cars. In my Porsche collection I have: GT1, 993 GT2 (one street version and the other with racing decals), 993 Turbo, 356 coupe and convertible, 1990 C2 targa and Porsche No#1 model. Unforturnately, 1/18 964 is hard to find.

Since there many brands to chose from, I look at the quality of the overall proportion before purchasing the model cars.

Besides, diecast cars, there are many 1/24 Tamiya plastic models to chose from. The newest one I have seen is a 996 GT3. I, myself, have build 1990 C4, 993 GT2, 2.7RS and a GT1.

Of course, other cars are available: Ferrari 360, Nissan Skylines, WRX, Benz, BMW, VW Bettle. Even F1 race cars. You name it, I can probably find it.

I'll try to post pictures of the Porsches that I have.

If you guys are interested in buying some model cars, let me know.

Oops .... looking at Model Car Zone's site this morning, the Anson 1:18 964 Cab is now gone. Either myself or a fellow rennlister got the last one, or they were out of stock to begin with. While I already receieved an order confirmation last night, we'll see if the model actually ships today.

Monty ... like Marc above, I tried to send you an e-mail, but it bounced. Can you please contact me with an updated e-mail address?

Thanks Randall G.,

After seeing your post on the 1:18 Anson Cab I order it and the Maisto Carrera GT. The order is confirmed as shipped and for $52 including shipping for both, looks like a great deal if the quality is OK. Should know soon....
Now I just need some Amethyst paint & a steady hand ?

Hey Jack,

You must have gotten the last of the 964 models from Model Car Zone . Good job!

I also received confirmation of shipping, and have a delivery date of 4/30.

I'll throw in a thank you to Emanuele, for making us aware that the Anson 1:18 (or, 1:14, I suppose) models exist.

Received my Anson model today. Nice piece of work!

Also, heard back from Anson's U.S. distributor. Here's the text of his reply to my e-mail, asking where I could buy the white Targa model:

************
Randal,
You can purchase this item from us directly. We only accept checks or money orders in advance. The cost of this item is $30.00 ea. which includes shipping. Please send a check to C&S Toys, 11181 Hidden Springs Ct., Dubuque, IA 52003

Best regards,
Chuck

************

I've already sent off a check for the white Targa model. My cup runneth over. Anyway, it looks like Chuck is the man to contact, if you're still looking for one of the Anson models. At least if you're in the U.S. His e-mail address is Usaanson@aol.com .

If you're closer to Asia, perhaps GT911 can set you up, as Anson is based in Hong Kong.

During my scouring of the web for 1/18 or so scale 964 models, I kept my eyes peeled for coupe versions. Sorry to say, coupe owners, but the only models I saw larger than 1/43 were either cab or Targa. Maybe you can try an e-mail to Chuck. Perhaps he can locate a model by another manufacturer?

TWIMC

I recieved my 2 models today and am happy to finally have a 964 Cab. The Anson C4 Cab is not as nice as the Maisto Carrera GT or my other Maisto Porsche's, But it is a 964 Cab with LHD and rear seats like my '91 so close enough. The speed of delivery and pricing assures I would order from these folks again.

Sorry all - Its bad enough disappearing, its really bad when your're stealth! Didnt realize I hadnt updated my email since I went broadband. Sorry to those who attempted to contact me. Looks like some of the questions are "OBE" (overcome by events!). Glad to see that sources for these anson models have been found. They are nice.
