Post Best Tyre pressure 964 C4

Hi

Finally I had the time to change my winter Continental tyres to the summer Brigestone Sp02, with the winter tyres the car felt like floating.

Which is the best tyre pressure for front 205/50 17" and back 255/50/17"

Before I drived with 2.5bar in the front and 3bar in the back as the manual said...but it seems a bit high to me.

Thanks

I think the factory recommended 44psi with 16 inch wheels.

From what I can make out, 36psi with 17 inch wheels seems to be the most common choice, and is what I use.

I use 2.5 bar both front and back on the tyre sizes you mention. Some OPC's still put the rears at 3.0 bar, which doesn't feel right to me. Less grip, lots more noise.

Cheers,

After 5 yrs of daily driving I have settled on 2.3 bar front and 2.7 bar rear for the tires you mention. The car handles corners far better and the ride is softer. The only down side is a slightly slower straight line acceleration time, which is not important if you don't do much robot racing.

Sorry just noticed you have a C4 as opposed to a C2.You may need to lower the front slightly to overcome the increased understeer of the C4.

Thanks for the responses, I have now lowered the car pressures now to 2,3 and 2,7 to see how it goes (before had 2,5 and 3,0 in rear)

Thanks

What do you guys recommend for 16" wheels with SO2 N3's on my 1990 C4? Stock suspension etc.

Thanks
Piers

I would recommend to go for 2,2-2,3 bar front and 2,4-2,5 bar rear for 17".
