Best 964 Cosmetic Modifications
We all want to have the sharpest looking car. But we do not want to go overboard and create a visual nightmare. Lets take a vote on what are the best wheels, tail, etc. that make for the best looking 964. Its subjective, but lets see what people think. You may also mention the worst modifications you've ever seen.

I personally (and probably one of the few) like flag mirrors and D90's on the early cars. My car still has it's flags and D90's and I don't mind the car showing it's 15 year age. It's an old car.
Though, the 17" 993 cup wheel looks great on our cars. It fits the time period of the cars and looks better on our cars than it did on 993's... The 3.6 Turbo rims look fantastic too on a narrow body car...

In my opinion... The best looking Porsche would be a wide body with a Carrera or Whale Tail, some nice rims and a front splitter. Perhaps an inlet in the rear quarter for brake cooling. My color preference (in order) would be Guards Red, Cobalt Blue, Black or Yellow. To me a classic Porsche needs a fixed tail... They need to look aggressive.
The only thing I would change on mine would be for it to be a wide body. When I get the time... I have stainless steel sill plates to put on... I also like the polished trim rings I have on the guages. I thought about changing the guage faces but like the black on black look. The polished trim rings add class without looking to "blingish" if you get my drift...
Just my .02...

I'll second the recommendation for the upgrade from D90's to Cup 1 wheels -- that was the first change I made to my C2 cab and the visual improvement is huge, IMHO. I don't like non-era correct wheels on 964's -- 993 Cups, Turbo Twists and Boxster wheels look "off" to me. The 3.6 Turbo wheels are the best looking wheel for the 964, IMHO, but are quite pricy and only come in 18 inch (which is not recomended for 964s).
I also like the visual change from swapping the motorized wing for an MA Shaw RS America replica wing -- see pics of my car at http://www.p-caronline.com/directory/j.mcdonald (no affiliation with MA Shaw). I like the MA Shaw wing better than the factory RSA wing because it doesn't have the rubber edge or the matte finish paint around the vents on top, and is designed to fit into the recess in the 964 decklid (unlike the factory RSA wing, which requires swapping in a 3.2 Carrera decklid).
I also like white-face gauges, I had mine done by N. Hollywood Speedo (no affiliation) after my speedo started to peel -- it's a big visual improvement. I'm thinking about adding the matte-stainless rings to the gauges.
Stainless pedals from AJ USA (no affiliation) were another visual improvement.
I like the way the Aero mirrors look, but I'm concerned that the mirrors will further reduce my 3/4 visibility with the top up.

-Wing - RSA and/or Turbo
-Wheels - Speedline 3-piece (I think it was the 3.6 Turbo that had those)
-Mirrors - Tear drop... no arguments there...
-Seats - The sport seats that came with the speedsters... sweet!!
-Interior bits - The Carbon Fiber replacement parts... yes... all of them

-Stainless pedals
-IMHO Wide Body is too frigging beautiful... those hips, lines, waxing the car with those curves... ...ohh excuse me... I need a few minutes alone...
I am basically describing a 964/965 3.6 Turbo with sport seats from a speedster...

Definately wheel upgrade to 17" Cup I's or II's or turbo twists,
Teardrops,
Remove black bumperettes on US models replace with smooth clears,
Optional: Clear side indicators (if you like the look!)
BTW, original automatic spoiler looks by far the best IMHO.

I like the Kinesis Supercups (Speedline-like). Tear-drops are a must.
A couple of odd thoughts not mentioned yet:
I think 993 door handles would be cool on a non-black (or similar) car.
Lowered suspension does wonders for the appearance!
Some simple chin spoilers look awesome!
