Well, I may be joining this group very soon. I have a line on a 91 964 that has been well cared for with less than 60k miles. PPI is scheduled for next Monday - PPI is being done by a dealer (only game in town) so I gave them additional items I wanted checked, e.g., compression and leakdown tests, distributor belt and kit, leakage from cylinders, etc. Very anxious to get the results.

Sad part will be letting my 83SC go <sniff> - she has resided in our garage for 10 years but I think I have found a good home for her.

Well, I held off replying because at the last minute, I found another car. I have zeroed in on a 1993 C2, located in Dallas - red/tan, with 43k miles. Pretty much stock, except Kenwood 6CD player.

My sense is the present owner (3rd) is affluent and this car is one of several in the garage. The PO, prior to the present owner, is an engineer and was apparently rather **** with the car - even to the extent of showing the present owner how to put gas in the car without scratching the paint work. Talked to the mechanic who has maintained the car for the past two years - - - no expense spared on necessary work. Full PPI by Mayo Performance is scheduled for this Monday, and if all goes well, as I expect, I'll fly down to Dallas a week from today and drive it back to the No. Va area. Price is in the very high 20s, tbd.

The other car I was considering was a 91 C2, red/black located in NC. Has 58k miles and appears to also be in outstanding condition. Price was in the mid-high 20s. Four owners. Talked to the PO before the present owner - a PCA racer who used this car as his city car. Said the car was in very good condition and had no issues with it. Present owner has just purchased a 928 (WTF) and therefore is selling the 964. He has had the car for about a year. The PPI was scheduled for this Monday too, but I need to cancel out. Well report back when I know more.

Price is good if car is as advertised. Make sure it doesn't get sold from under you. My '93 C2 has been bombproof so far (John D --I think we need a knock on wood icon!).
