Default Painting Brake Calipers

I know that a lot of folks here have done it. I'm not just talking about taking our normal black calipers and going red, but those who have repainted any color. My front calipers are looking shabby and since I used Leland-West's preferred glass company my deductable was waived (so they tell me, I'll wait a while to be sure). So that's $500 I didn't have to spend. Anyway, I just discovered a brand of caliper paint called "G2". It's an American firm versus the Foliatech product which I know others have used. Anyone here used the "G2" product and any feedback on it? TIA.

Craig I have used G2 on several of my vehicles that weren't powder coated. I tried this on my 90's C2 and was not pleased at all with the results. I think you really need to sand the gloss off of the calipers before applying the G2. I wound up spraying my calipers with VHT caliper paint, it came out so-so, but I am actually going to be taking the calipers off and send them to Chris Walrod and have him powder coat them. I think it will be money well spent.

Can you post or pm me contact information on Chris Walrod? I need to have my rear calipers done to match my front Big Reds, thanks.

Crap... and I just got a kit of G2 red paint for my rear calipers! I'm in the same position as Damian... Big reds in the front and black calipers in the rear.

Anyone have a good experience with G2?

Smokin, I have had a good experience with G2, but never on previosuly coated calipers, always painted the "raw" calipers. Marc Shaw (I think) did his and he put like 6+ coats on his and from the pictures they look like they turned out great. I think i wasn't patient enough this time or something

I used G2 and had great results. Cleaned my black calibers with brake cleaner, ruffed up the surface with a 3M pad. I mixed the paint and used a sprayer. Very good results.

Powder coating is the ONLY way to go IMO. Mine were done very recently, and I could not be happier with the look and quality.
