Post Interior mounting brackets

I love my car! Don't get me wrong, I enjoy driving it and like the look of the interior, which I try to keep as original as possible.

But there is no room for anything on the dash! I have just bought myself a "licence protector" - www.originbluei.co.uk - but cannot seem to get a decent bracket / arm to mount the unit within the view of the driver. PO has a mobile phone mount coming out of the top of unit where the hazard switches are - looked ok, but a really nasty bit of metal that might turn into a knife in an accident (heaven forbid).

Does anyone have any ideas of decent brackets with swivel heads that can affix to the car to hold this sort of unit?. The unit measures approximately 105mm across, 68mm high and 43mm deep.

Thanks

How heavy is the unit? Would you be able to attach it to the underside of the ashtray with some strong double sided sticky tape?

Instead of sticky tape why not use some self tappers on the ashtray.

A replacement ashtray costs peanuts from a breakers

Tried that - the unit is too heavy for the ashtray - keeps opening!

Also, it's at the wrong angle for easy viewing.
