Post Wheel/lug nuts

I have noticed that many specialists here in the UK sell nice new (black) aluminium wheel nuts for between £1.80 - £2.00 each. Based on the fact that my OPC has quoted £7.01 each (!), I guess these are not genuine Porsche parts! So the question is, are they any good? Why so much cheaper?

Thanks.

Be careful! Ally is easy to cross thread plus there's some cheap rubbish out there which can't take the torque.

I have used some of these (purchased from Simon Butterworth/Porsch-apart) for a couple of years with no problems. Just bear in mind that they are torqued quite high (130 Nm /90+ ft/lbs, for my 944 & 968 at least) and you should use a good torque wrench.

cheers

Hi,
I had one replaced by a specialist with no problems so far. I don't think you can assume that they are not genuine parts based on the price - pretty much everything is much cheaper if you don't buy from OPC.

If I were replacing lug nuts I would go with steel. They are a lot stronger!
