I've had all sorts of problems trying to install a copy of PET5 under Windows XP and I wondered if anyone else has had problems and found a solution.
I originally had the program installed under Windows NT without problems but I now wanted to install on my Windows XP machine. I invariably come up with a problem relating to the Hardware Lock system (HLVDD) - I assume it gets around a need for a dongle - but it just won't work.
Any ideas anyone????
Regards
Dave

We are not allow to discuss these issues for illegal copies of software here in Rennlist...
You are correct, the sytem is looking for the dongle in the parallel port... unless you have it you will not be able to use it.

IIRC, there was a thread somewhere on rennlist about this......the solution may have been installing the program in "compatability mode"....allowing XP to run early win programs.

Come on guys! I was trying to be politically correct.... The PET he was asking about was not the pdf CD you get at the dealer... and right after I posted my formal reply I PM the guy with how to fix it...
He is happy using whatever it is that we should not be talking about here... now we can close this illegal thread
