Default Getting nervous - my first Nurburgring trip

In the 964 of course - this weekend 13/14/15. I'm getting new front pads and brake fluid fitted tomorrow.

Can't stop thinking about it!

Visit the BMW site... no link but was posted a few days ago.

Much good advice given, places to brake early, line to take etc.

Was posted on the 993 forum me thinks!

Just treat it like any other mountain road that you're not familiar with.

Oh, and keep in mind that it's not a race track, but a public road. This means no overtaking on the right.

Other than that, get some passenger laps with people who know their way round. There usually are enough people who're willing to take someone along. Some of them will require you to wear a helmet, as they have a cage in the car.

It's a bit late, but this page tells you how I prepared for my first laps

I'll be there on Sat-Sun-Mon; feel free to look me up. I'll be driving my 964 (yellow ZL-??-?? plates), or a red Golf GTI (HG-CC-?? plate).

Cheers,

JW

Thanks everyone. I'm at the stage where I've read more than enough, absorbed the warnings and now just need to get out there and drive (for real, not on the PS2!).

JW I'll be sure to say hello if I spot you.
