CCU Help
I know there has been discussion on this in the past but, does anyone know the best way to get one of these buggers (cheap). My mechanic is quoting $1150 which seems about right (for list) but I'd like to find one cheaper. Any input would be appreciated.
Does anyone have a good one they're trying to sell? I'm hoping to dodge the hit to the wallet (or at least soften it some).
Finally, is there any danger of leaving the old crappy unit in the car until I get a new one... In otherwords, will a faulty CCU cause damage to any of the other componants (particularly the ones I just replaced)???
Thanks
After months of intermittant trouble shooting (and finally giving in and taking the car to the shop) I've determined that I need a new CCU.

Well...you could always check DC Automotive or http://www.911pcar.com/ they both carry used parts that usually have some sort of guarantee. It is worth a shot.
Another source would be Parts Heaven in CA. Check Excellence or Pano for some other sources, perhaps a web search on "porsche used parts". If you do need to buy a new one, check with Reeves Porsche in FL (parts manager is Kenn Young) or Sunset in OR. Reeves usually discounts around 25%, and Sunset is cost+15% (Mention Excellence discount).
