pillar trim gets complicated
After getting my 964, I considered that the internal pillar trim on the passenger side (left) between the front and rear windows needed to be replaced. That's the trim where the seatbelt bolts through and has the coat hook at the top where it meets the internal ceiling lining.
Anyway, my trim had a cut mark in the fabric so I ordered a new trim from Porsche ($35)thinking that I could just take off the existing trim which I expected to be a sheet metal strip covered in vinyl. The part arrived (3 months later) from Germany yesterday and to both the suprise of the spare parts manager and I, the part was a cut out piece of vinyl about 1' x 6".
Enquiries were made of the service manager and he said that I will need to send the car off to a trim specialist to instal the new trim onto the pillar.
Does anyone (Adrian) know exactly what's involved, so maybe I could do it myself or do I need to get it done professionally?
Thanks
