I added my reply here as well as the original post on the "performance modifications" forum...due to the fact that I think it's worthwhile to the 964 forum.

----------------------------------------------

First of all, being a veteran of a few supercharger installs myself, one being a 911SC...I must say, it pays to pay attention to the small details that a particular "manufacturer" of such kit offers.

The fact that TPC sells this kit is a plus, in my book anyway. They have had much success in this venue, more than I can say for another "manufacturer".

The reason why your fuel pressure drops, and things go lean, is because you've basically interrupted the constant supply pressure and flow by placing your 7th injector after the fuel filter. The next place fuel should encounter is the fuel distribution rails to your main injectors.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the schrader valve is part of the return/overflow loop?? Meaning that any fuel NOT used by the injection system is returned to the fuel tank.

A few years back, Kenne Bell Systems had a component that basically shut off the return line under boost...your 7th injector setup is basically just diverting the return pressure to said injector.

This is all recalled from memory, again, I may be wrong...and I'm sure someone will "chime in" if so. <img src="graemlins/nono.gif" border="0" alt="[nono]" />

My best piece of advice at this point is to "re-plumb" your 7th injector to the schrader valve location...if the cap is indeed seized, and you cannot remove it without irrepairable damage...then by all means -splice- the line for your fitting. Once again, if memory serves me, this is nothing short of an aluminum fuel line.

I have considered several options for upgrading the performance of my 964, even the TPC conversion...as I only live 4hrs away and know plenty of satisfied customers from their infamous RX-7 upgrade program years ago - to include a relative. Their writeup in Excellence was stellar enough to get me thinking.

Bottom line, a 911 horizontally opposed flat-six was never meant to be supercharged. But if someone "out there" has a kit that provides a moderate, low boost solution, I think it's worth a GO!

Otherwise, soon you'll be having a "GO" at a new set of pistons!
