Prevent Bloody Nose?

OK, as I mentioned earlier this week, my C2 is now lowered (H&R and Bilsteins) - - I really like it, but with the snout now several inches lower, it's vulnerable to sharply inclined driveways and the like. Is there anything I should be doing (other than going more slowly
) or attaching to the car to provide increased protection up there?
Thanks in advance.

I have H&R coilovers but only lowered my car by around 25mm, i.e. barely an inch. This has given me no problems whatsoever. I would raise the car again slightly.
When you say 'several inches' - what do you mean?

Chuck,
You might see if Gert at www.carnewal.com has something for 964's, similar to what he sells for 993's for snout protection.

Chuck,
I recently did a similar upgrade, but my car certainly isn't sitting as low as yours appears to be. What is the current height of the wheel wells, measured at the highest point of the arch?

Unfortunately, I dont believe Gert has a similar product for the 964.

Or you can modify your driving. The real key is to never go over a speed bump, drive way, incline etc straight on. Always go at an angle. While my 964 is not lowered my previous 3er bmw only had about 4 inches of clearance on the front lip and I very rarely had any problem. You also learn not to pull too far forward in parking spots. Watch the kids in the slammed Hondas they usually have it down.

Rich - I'll measure the wheel well height this evening when I get home - but looking at the car from the front, I am guessing I have about 6 inches of clearance between the valance and the ground. The tires (17 inch) now fill the wheel well very nicely.
I just sent Gert an email inquiring if they have a Front Protection Bar for a 964. I'll report back when I hear from Gert.

OK, measured from ground to highest point of wheel well arch - Fronts are 25 1/2 inches (647.7mm) and Rears are 25 inches (635mm). Ground clearance between bottom of valance to ground is 5 1/2 inches (139.7mm).
Curious to hear if these heights are about average for lowered cars. Actually, I should have measured before having the new H&R springs installed. What is the USA stock height?

Just received the following email from Gert in response to my question about the availability of a Front Protection Bar for the 964:
Hi,
The 993 FPB will fit your 964, but because of the shape of the 964 bumper,
the bar will be more visible than when installed on a 993.
One solution is to powercoat the bar in the color of the car.
Sonny Vo has one installed on his 964Turbo :

Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Gert.

I second what AK says and add that I always back into a spot with a curb, you will never damage the front spoiler this way and your always ready to go when you pull out, a safer situation! Good luck & have fun with it!
