Question Transmission leaking

My car is 1990 C4. I found my transmission leaks at the side, near an actuator(?), I think part number is 928 332 775 12. Technician took it out and found the rubber inside was broken into pieces. I checked the part chart but couldn't find the part number for the rubber seal, only the complete assembly (928 332 775 12). Anyone know if I can replace the rubber only withotu changing whole actuator? Where can I get that?
My technician also found that another seal at the front of transmission, 964 301 051 01, looks the same as the rubber in the actuator. Anyone know if I can use this to replace the rubber seal?

Thanks!

You might be able to use part #928-332-051-02. There is also a repair kit for the 928 operating cylinder but I'm not sure what it includes or if it is the correct part #928-116-901-00.

Thanks Jason. 928-332-051-02 looks similar, I should try it before buying complete cylinder, which is expensive.

Who manufacturers the cylinder (the name might be embossed on the side)? I'd check their website for your local rep, they might be able to sell you a seal directly.

No idea who made it. I didn't think it's shown on the cylinder case. Anywhere I can find the supplier of this slave cylinder? Thanks!

If there are no marks on the cylinder I would try ATE, they make the clutch slave cylinder so its possible Porsche sourced your cylinder from them also. Are there any numbers or marks on the cylinder?

Anyone knows what's this slave cylinder for? Can I drive the car without it? (If I can seal the opening) Since this part is not in stock in many places, I'm thinking driving the car before I get the part. Wil that affect any system?

Thanks!

Hi Patrick,
Isn't that the 4 wheel drive interlock actuator (???) I had to replace mine at the last minute before I got the car back from Universal in December. Ordered it from Design911 in the UK - 2 day delivery and about 50GBP I seem to remember. If you need it I could dig out the original order to check part nos etc otherwise call me.

Cheers

Mark,

I found the part from a US source around $310, very expensive compare to your 50GBP. Please help me to check if it is the same part as yours. I'll contact Design911 for that.
Thanks!

Need you guys help again~~
I ordered the slave cylinder from Sunset Porsche and they sent me the photo of the part today, and there is NO rubber sleeve on it!!

I can't find the rubber sleeve in the part chart, so I thought the rubber sleeve should be part of the slave cylinder, but it is NOT!

My rubber sleeve was broken into pieces and transmission oil leaks from a small hole (around the size of a needle) on the cylinder. Is it possible that there is no sleeve on the cylinder originally, but because of some reasons that cylinder is leaking from this small hole, and previous owner installed the rubber sleeve from some other parts? If this is the case (although seems impossible), then it is cylinder problem, otherwise it is rubber sleeve problem. Anyone can help me to find out the part number of that rubber sleeve?

Since the slave cylinder is a $300+ part, I don't want to buy it and try. Too expensive to try.

Thanks!

Patrick
