1) Yes.
2) Yes (using DIN tools, as for the stereo).

Hopefully theives won't realise that the Air Con unit is worth much more than the Stereo most people have in their cars!!

Anyone know how to take the face off their Air Con untit? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

I just replaced my defrost fan/recirculate button and it wasn't hard.

Unit already out of car...
Pull the ***** off the front (dials and sliders)
Locate the retaining plastic tabs just behind the faceplate and disengage them from the metal control unit box.
Disassemble the faceplate by disengaging the retaining plastic tabs and separate the faceplate.
Replace the switch and reassemble.
While your in there blow some compressed air through the air sensor and the grille on the faceplate. I found mine clogged with dust. I also blew air through the little fan the sucks the air into the unit. I used the canned air I clean my camera with.

Switch part was $109US

Notes on removal from dash...
When you pull the unit from the dash the clips on the back disengage from opposite directions and have a integral plastic hook on the end opposing the lock. You need to get some wire harness slack so these clips will clear the dash when your disconnection the electrical. Also disconnect the battery before you remove the unit because I read somewhere that it is live.

I think that was everything.
