Default Air meter cleaning

Just removed the air meter for a cleaning before my other parts arrive and the car is back on the road. I looked inside (the air meter) but it seems clean and I am not seeing anything in there to clean... what am I missing here?

Thanks

Hi,

If you are refering to the Airflow sensor then it is possible to carefully open up the plastic and to reveal and indeed clean the track/arm etc within. There was an excellent 'how to' with photo's a while back, a search under similar terms should reveal it. Not recommended by everyone but can help in some idle/running issues. Are you having problems as if it aint broke?

Just have the car in pieces for cleaning and waiting for some other parts so thought about doing at preventitive maintainace. Having some driveability and stalling issues but I am fairly certain they are coil rather than AFM.

Might be worth a go then. Just gently prise it open (its a bit stiff) and use spray contact cleaner to softly clean the runner.
