Default Escort GT-2 Performance Computer results

I don't know if there is a definitive thread posting results from the Escort Performance computer or any others such as the GTech, but here are my results so far:

0-60 4.88 Secs
1/4 mile- 13.18 @108.1
330 HP

These numbers were recorded after a 1700 rpm launch, then full throttle up to near redline.

I was getting steady 13.5 times at around 100 mph when I was holding 3rd gear to redline. I found the extra 8 mph were achieved after a shift to 4th gear.

I believe that there are a few more tenths to be shaved off the times with a better launch. I'm looking for around 12.8's

The Hp measurement was derived from a 3212 wet weight that I got from corner balancing. The weight with a full tank of gas but without the driver was 3027.

The best 0-60 I have done so far is 4.43, but I was not able to continue to the 1/4 mile.

This was done with a car that has 144,000 on the odo.

I will be going back to the dyno and the drag stip to confirm the numbers.

Colin,

Your running over 300hp? What mods have you done other than the obvious in your signature?

Ps. Was your car dyno tuned for the Cyntex chip?

Quite impressive!!!!

Thanks
Jeff

Actually, the loss from 254rwhp to 330 estimated by the kit is quite extreme, however your times are excellent - which I guess is what counts! Niiiice......

I am actually a little leary of the numbers of the meter. I am lending it to a co-worker who has a camaro that runs steady 10.2 quarters. He is going to give his seal of approval, or not.

Jeff- the chip was not dyno tuned to the car. but Paul Schwartz of Cyntex told me that dyno tuning his initial setup would really only net about 5 hp. His maps are pretty good as he has different ones for different setups. I guess the only secret thing that I did to the engine was to loosen the tolerances of the valves. I found that they were adjusted too tight. Maybe the valves weren't fully closing!

Christer- I think that thte dyno numbers are probably correct, as the Escort interpolates its hp numbers.

I am ordering the PC kit for the Escort to see if that will give me plots of the hp and torque. BTW, the torque value from the Escort puts my car at 477 lb. ft. A little optomistic if you ask me.

I am thrilled by the 1/4 mile E.T. and trap speed, but I will await confirmation from
a known good source.
