Question Steering wheel replacement

Hi everyone

I need some advice.
I'm about to change the steering wheel on my 964 C2 -91. (Since I'm quite tall I need to get a little bit further back in the car in order to find a comfortable driving position.) What I want to do is to replace the porsche wheel, with air bag, with an OMP wheel with a lot more offset, and no air bag. The problem is the air bag. I don't need, or want, an air bag on the new wheel.
So, does anyone know how I go about this exchange, without setting off the air bag light.
I also want to maintain the functionallity of the passenger air bag and other safety systems.

Grateful for advice,
Tomas <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

Dear Tomas,
What you are asking is actually against the law. However it is perfectly legal to disable the passenger side airbag and there is a kit available from Porsche to do this job. I am sure you can take it from here,
Ciao,

Hi,

I'm after the same result: a steering wheel with more offset. Fortunately, my C2 isn't equipped with an airbag, so things should be simpler.

Yesterday my OPC told me that they can replace the steering wheel with one that has a larger (3 or 4 cm's) offset. Cost: about Euro 380 ($325).
I've postponed deciding what I want to do

Cheers, JW
