Cool Some Autocross Pics

This weekend we attended a Gold Coast Region PCA autocross where a friend snapped some of these photos.

<img src="http://boards.rennlist.com/upload/dorothy3.jpg" alt=" - " />
Here Dorothy and I are staging - I ride along & coach during her practice laps. Notice the new Kuhmo's on my new-to-me 993 wheels!

<img src="http://boards.rennlist.com/upload/dorothy2.jpg" alt=" - " />
Dorothy's looking ahead. The truly eagle-eyed will notice the Power Puff Girl sticker on the side of her helmet - Dorothy's patron saint of autocross.

...my personal favorite photo - too bad she can barely see over the wheel!

What a great way to spend a weekend!

Nice pictures.

What's that mark in front of the passenger-side door handle, Terry?

It's kinda goofy, but we "decorated" the car with "static cling" decals at the event. We stuck an American flag on the hood and there's a little star decal near the door handle. ...and no, I don't drive around with stickers on the car!

Very nice! I like to see them low!

Funny, here in the UK most people wouldn't really consider using a convertible for track work, whereas in the US I've seen loads of track 964s with rollbars and all. Drive them as they were designed to!

If I were buying a car specifically for the track, it certainly wouldn't have four wheel drive or a drop top. ....but this is South Florida where it hardly drops below 70F - most definitely a place to own a convertible. So as they say in the south, "Ya run what ya brung"

Our local PCA region has plenty of Boxsters competing in the autocrosses and a couple of 911 cabriolets of different years. With all the sunshine we get there are convertibles (and upholstery shops) everywhere.

Thats another interesting point. I could swear that London has the highest concentration of convertible cars of any European capital, yet it rains 2 days out of 3!! The logic of it all...
