Question PCA Certificate: How will you use yours?

I guess that most PCA members have received their $100 certificates from PCA & PCNA. Mine is still stuck on the refrigerator as I haven't figured out what I want to spend it on.
How about you? What have (or are) you going to pick at the parts counter?

First, be sure to use a Porsche dealer that discounts, so you can maximize the benefit to you. One that discounts around 25% is Hennessy Porsche in Atlanta (Kenn Young is the parts manager there at 800-471-0911). Sunset Porsche in Oregon (ask for the Excellence price) is another one. Brumos did a 20% discount for the last certificate, maybe they are again for this certificate. Even our local dealer offers a 10% PCA discount. THEN use your certificate. That would mean you can buy around list price $265 (give or take) for around $100 out of pocket.

In my case, I used the certificate on 993 rear brake calipers.

Hey! Is this just a US thing? Sounds like a great idea though - how can we get this in the UK? If we can't, I'm unsure if I want to hear more about the uses of the $100 certificate, or less about it!

Unfortunately, it's a PCA organized voucher, so it's only available in US & Canada.
I'm still waiting for mine, but it'll be going towards some rear rotors.

I used mine approximately one week ago. I have a 1991 c4 cab and I ended up purchasing a wind deflector for the cab. It fits great over the rear seats and is very easy to install. That along with the boot cover really finishes off the car nicely!

I bought new mats for my cab about two months ago - what a disappointment! The new latch system, IMHO sucks! I wish they had the old style mats with the "snap" in the middle. Porsche's new mats come with an "anchor" to stick into the existing floor. That's great if your entire floor is already carpeted. The only thing I could possible sink that anchor into was the sound deading material under the floormat. ....obviously not very secure.

...and those latches! You get ONE shot at clamping those down tight. If you don't get it right, the spring clip is too stressed to be reused.

Next time, I'm going back to Lloyd mats.

I need another spoiler curtain.

I replaced it back in November and it recently split. When I stopped by the parts counter last month for my floor mats, I was griping about the spoiler curtain. To my surprise, they offered to replace it if I still had the receipt. I had the receipt but trashed the part.

Who woulda thunk that a Porsche dealer would offer to replace an over-the-counter part installed by a do-it-yourself-hack like me? I thought for certain they'd tell me "too bad, so sad".

For me, a nice shiny tequipment strut brace and a 19 cent rubber bung to cover a screw-hole on the door panel. I love having a good excuse to buy things for my car .

Good Idea!
Would you happen to have a part number for the Tequipment strut brace? I could use a strut brace for my car too. The $100 certificate could get the price out of the stratosphere and down to just plain pricey.

The polished one is 964-343-042-00. There is or was a black one available, too, but the part number (964-501-939-01) I had for it wasn't findable in my dealer's PET, apparently.

The price wasn't stratospheric - my order (after discount) came to under $160 all told - I'd seen it listed online at $450, so I was very pleasantly surprised.

Got my AJ-USA cup copy of the Porsche strut tower brace. It was blemished on one side, so they sent me a "hang tag" for UPS pickup for an exchange. No quibble. Meanwhile, reading these posts, I decided check out 964.343.042.00 .Dealer here wanted $155.00 + my coupon. I don't really like this dealer, so called Kenn Young at Hennesy Porsche, and he offered a somewhat better deal, so I told him to send me the Porsche bar, called AJ, told then NOT to send replacement- again, no quibble. Good folks. Thus, I finally get rid of the coupon, and can stop obsessing as to what to get with it!!!
