rough idle troubleshooting

checked ya voltage ? (ie battery state)
12.6v before cranking
sitting around 13.8-14.4v while idling...
a crap voltage can cause very strange engine probs...
I had this, found it was the battery dragging the voltage down to 12.9v
with a new battery it now sits about 13.6v - still lower than spec, but idle is a lot better !!!

what about coils
no- i'm still compiling my list of crap to test out. Can't someone just devise a button that says "FIXED", and I press it and no more problems?
anyone installed Flamethrower coils? they are cheaper than stock, and are supposed to put out more voltage, better fuel comsumption, blah blah blah...

I think I'd buy new coils instead of used. They aren't that expensive and then you know that you've ruled that problem out.
I have heard of some people heating used ones slightly with a hair dryer and then sealing them with a clear acrylic. This keeps out moisture. I had a car that was hard starting and it turned out that the coil had absorbed moisture and it weakened the spark. I used that trick and it worked like a charm.

You would have to heat them over the boiling point for a little while for this to work .
