Seats
Michael,
The Pole Positions have a smooth surface backside while the RS seats have "spiderweb" pattern. The Recaro SPG's are more close to the original RS seats.
Currently considering a pair of SPG's myself!

I have original European RS seats and had an SPG seat. Both are fiberglas buckets made by Recaro as is the Pole Position model, the RS is only available from Porsche, however. The RS seat is about 1 inch wider in the hip than the SPG while the Pole Position is somewhat wider than the RS. I weight 100 kg and do not fit at all in the SPG, am a tight fit in the RS seat and find the Pole Position to be a nice easy fit. RS seats are available in leather as in the 964 RS and cloth as fitted to the 968 CS. An RS seat has a removable pad under the upholstered pad you sit on, this pad and the fiberglas bucket are cut out for a crotch belt. A Speedster seat looks like an RS seat but has a trompoline like cushion under the padded cushion and no cut outs for the crotch belt.

It's a completely different seat I should have said European RS seats (as in my corrected post above). They are fiberglas bucket seats. They save approximately 5o pounds of weight BTW.

All the bucket seats Recaro makes are narrower than the C2 standard seat. They are true "bucket" seats that are made to cradle the driver and passenger during track type driving. They are not as comfortable for a long, liesurely drive, but are more comfortable if you are driving fast since you arn't thrown around and don't have to hang onto the steering wheel for dear life, which also allows you to drive the car. Click on:Recaro Bucket for a picture. My point is just that the Recaro "SPG" model seat is about an inch narrower than the OEM Recaro "European Carrera RS" seat which in turn is an about an inch narrower than the Recaro "Pole Position" model. All 3 models are buckets.
