Post Used Cab opinion?

Well fellow Rennlisters, It's time to put the girl up on the auction block. I love her to death but variety is the spice of life. I could use some opinions of what to ask. Here are the details:
1991 Cabriolet. White w/black partial leather. Both 8 out of 10.
All mech updates from Porsche including factory rebuild on engine at 90,000 miles. All recipts from new. 131,000 on the clock now. 2 year old top. Well......what should I ask for her?

Lastly, thanks for all the support. This site is a gold mine of information and help. I have taken some advice and given some and in the process learned volumes.

Christian Baker.
P.S. I know people will ask what am I buying. 1995 Lotus Esprit. (This damn 964 is just to reliable! My wrench turning skills are going to heck!)

Christian,

Just curious about the factory rebuild - was the engine sent to Porsche Germany or was a factory rebuilt engine installed as a replacement or was work done at a dealer or ?? With the exception of current models, way older models, or racing Porsches, you don't normally see "factory" rebuilt.

I called a Porcshe factory parts dealer and he says that the factory offers a rebuilt 964 engine and you have to give them in exchange your "rebuildable" 964 engine.

Oh lordy. As a life long Lotus fan (as a type I'm looking at a treasured Patrick Gillard oil painting of Mario in the 79 and surrounded by more models of Lotus GP cars than I care to count) and ex-Lotus owner (Elan and +2s 130)I wish you well.

The good news is that the highs will be high and if you can turn a decent wrench then maybe you won't be quite as frustrated as I was when the lows hit (usually late on dark and rainy Sunday nights when I was about 125 miles from where I needed to be and the RAC - UK equivalent of AAA - were running 90 mins behind schedule).

Serious Advice - do ensure you have AAA membership and a cell phone.

Bon Chance

I sit corrected. The engine was rebuilt at the dealership. (symantics). I would assume that the term "factory" extends to Porsche trained mechanics at a Porsche dealership. IMHO.
