JohnF,
No problem, you can have your 993 six speed and not have to worry about pushing in a clutch pedal.
RUF EKS (Electronic Clutch System)

When I bought my G50 20 gearbox at RUF Germany last December I also wanted to know about the possibility to have EKS installed. However, they informed me that they no longer offer EKS due to the incredible cost. DM 15.000 (approx. USD 7200) was the last price they quoted which barely covered their cost.

The news aint that bad - I love driving my Tip anyway - but it would be interesting to find out how much it would cost to get a 6-speed semi -auto'd. I've just e-mailed a UK based race engineering company who fit these systems - if they give me a price I'll let you all know.

There are actually a number of EKS systems that were installed in Singapore in 964s and have since been taken out of the respective owners cars.
Whilst the system is fantastic when it works, there are little gremlins that cannot be sorted (even by the sole authorised RUF dealer here)- car will move out of gear whilst cruising etc have all occurred.
I had initially considered this install given my wife cannot drive a manual car at all (and there are a few owners who are selling their EKS systems 2nd hand), but the cons outweighed the pros given the unresolved gremlins and the problem of spare parts for the EKS system (and I have an inherent fear of anything non-Porsche original given my bad experiences thus far with modifications).
