well here is what happened, i picked up an aftermarke windshield on ebay for 75$ with no antena, which i really dont car much for.
this one is out of a coupe, like new, went there, the owner of the shop was very nice and spent all morning installing it for free. at the end, it seems like its smaller than it should, it looked fine when compared to the original, but when fitted, its just no right.
the funny thing is that coupes and cabs windshields have the same part number.
now i must buy a new one, to return this one, and i wish i kept my original craked one, was a small crack after all.
when i went to a glass shop, they told me that the after market ones are supposed to have this extra metal seal around it to make it fit.
anyway, has anyone installed aftermarked windshields, this one is made in australia.
please how did you fit it

I can't say for the 964, but on the early 911s, the original windshields worked much better than after market. Aftermarket glass tended to leak and be difficult to install.

Why did you have to pay for a windshield? I believe its a law in florida that your insurance has to replace your windshield for free with no deductable if its broken or cracked and cant be repaired. You do have insurance I hope.

Yeah, that's definitely a law. Florida law requires that your insurance company replace your windshield without you having to pay the deductible. I'm sure I'll suffer a big rock chip before I get stationed elsewhere.

Brian,
You should have given it a wack after your incident and gotten it fixed at the same time
Something on your dash hit it or something like that! Maybe stress fracture.
