Installed a RUF front valance lip today
Very easy install, comes with the 10 needed screws (6 longer ones to replace existing screws holding the black plastic trays on, and 4 self tapping screws for the end at the wheel well), holes already molded into it. Maybe a 30 minute install. Here's what it looks like (ignore the filthy front end, haven't cleaned it after the last track days):
MA Shaw Carrera tail should be here in a week or two, so aerodynamics should be all set foR next season.

Bill,Pretty cool unit. Since I'm in the market as well, may I ask what were the factors that made you puts yer money down?
Gt911's looks good as well..any comments one the bigger lip vs yours.
(by the way, Been asking Santa for the same rear spoiler! Are you getting it painted? locally?)
Regards All..

I looked at the various options: front valance like the RUF, more aggressive like what Mike Shaw offers (pictures in the archives on Jeff Curtis's 964), splitters like Porsche Tequipment/TechArt, race splitter offered by The Racers Group, what FVD and Cargraphic offer, and that's certainly not all of them. I bought the RUF as it's a bit more subtle looking than some options, it doesn't require painting looking fine as is, it's an easy bolt on, it's not fiberglass which can crack if you hit something or scrap the road too often (a consideration here in New England), I like the way it wraps wheel well to wheel well, and since it works for some of the RUF creations, I have confidence in it's aerodynamic effect.
If I were trailering, with no daily driver usage, I'd consider The Racers Group carbon splitter, below:

I'll prep and prime it myself, then take it to a friend who has a spray setup, and about a quart of grand prix white he wouldn't mind using up. Certainly worth a couple of cases of German beer I also had a Mike Shaw wing on my SC and left it black, not on purpose, however. It didn't look bad that way, so painting it never bubbled up on the to-do list. This one, however, I'll paint

Chuck,
You must be looking at the Weissach site, which is a RUF distributor in Canada, whose prices are quite high. I ordered directly from RUF in Germany, whose website is www.ruf-automobile.de.

The one thing I like about the RUF is that it's subtle and it looks very clean, almost OEM. A lot of front valence manufacturers opt to add a lot of holes and vents here and there which really chops up the front of the car.......The ruf is understated and blends in quite nicely with the rest of the car. Nice purchase Bill.

Nice choice, Bill! It's functional, looks great, durable, easy to install--just the kind of upgrade I'm always interested in.
Wondering two things:
* When installing, does this piece get "sandwiched" between the bumper and existing lip?
* Did you also try Stefania Corp prior to your direct purchase? Any comments?
As always, thanks for sharing!

Bill,
Whats the cost of the Racer's Group front spoiler? By carbon do you mean carbon fiber?
I have the FVD one which had to be cut (then rebonded) to widen it otherwise it didn't fit out of the box.
But I do like the Racer's Group spoiler!

Joey,
This does not get sandwiched between the existing black plastic pieces and the body. You pull out a total of six screws (3 on each black plastic piece), push the RUF part into place, and using their included longer screws, tighten it up. Their part also has holes for tightening the other scews that hold on the black plastic pieces. Stephania wanted $300 plus shipping, with 10 day availability, which is another sourcing option, possibly least cost if you're ordering one.

I believe it's around $750 and carbon fiber, and it is one piece which also replaces the two black plastic pieces under the front. It is a good looking part, however, for daily driver usage I'm afraid it might not have a long life - first curb, crunch!
