When do you consider your 964 warmed up?

I have 8 stop signs before getting out of where I live... that provides plenty of time for the car to come up to temperature before I floor it... I just tend to take it easy during the first 5-10 minutes...

warm up
not only are you waiting to allow the themostat to open and keep the sudden oil pressure from damaging the oil cooler but also to allow the heat from the heads to migrate to head studs as to grow with engine too. thats why head studs break and distortion at head and piston occur due to head and piston growth faster than studs.

Like Christer,Ian, Jimq, and Dutch........wait for the oil cooler......I keep the rev's 3000 and under....it's like my" Busa"....the oil guage start's to rise but the cases are cold.....when they feel warm like the RF fender the oil @ 8:00 then it's...............liftoff !

I'll add my 0.02 only to capsulate the facts posted above. Should apply though mine is a 993...
I never rev hard until the oil cooler has opened and this is how you can tell:
- Oil temp will rise to about 8 oclock. You'll hear gurgling from the right rear fender as the oil circulates.
- Wtch closely, shortly thereafter, the oil temp will drop to 7 oclock. This indicates that the oil bypass has opened and now the complete oil system is used. Prior to this occurrence, you are feeding oil from the tank only. This is done to accelerate the warming process.
- Then I play.
