Default Armrest?

I previously posted for some help on a problem with power loss downhill. Still working on that problem. Still hoping someone someone might pop in with a solution. But thats another thread.

I love this site, lots of good info and I just signed up to become a member today. I figure I've already saved time and a good bit of money fromt he advice here, I should help sponsor it. Hope maybe I can contribute in the future.

I've looked around a bit for this, but not found exactly what I'm looking for. I'd love a bolt in solution, but may have to resort to making something myself. Are there any conversions you guys know about that would put in a center armrest?

I finally got my enthusiasts book this week. Great book, kudos Adrian! I can see why its mentioned in half the threads on this site.

They are made by Sam Bird out of Connecticut. Has ads in most Pcar mags.

Here is the best (and most expensive) one that I have seen... On Automotion's site.

Automotion

EDIT - Ooops... Looks like the same one from another company...

There also appears to be a small chrome keyhole on the drivers side of the armrest.

That's right. You pull out the factory key mechanism when installing the Bird armrest, which allows you to "plug" it (see the Arctic Silver plug),and you get set of keys so the new unit will lock. Sam supplies you with a plug to cover the original keyhole which you can see on the console.
