Wheel bearings, ever replaced?
Hi there,
Does anybody aver replaced wheel bearings, front or rear, on a normal driven street 964?
I saw that they are easely accessable, especially at the rear.
Thanks for answers,
Arjan

Dear Arjan,
Messy job, difficult job, especially if the 964 is high mileage. Take care, the wheel bearings are easily damaged on installation.

The fronts are easy, just remove the wheel carrier, (aluminum hub), remove the bearing seals and the bearings will come right out.
For the rear, now those are a bi#%$...you'll likely need a slide hammer/bearing puller to remove those, I haven't undertaken the changeout as of yet, but plan to in the near future as I have evidence that something is amuck back there.

O.k. guys,
We have all the tools in our GM Dealership, so that will be no problem.
The only thing is to stay calm and look well to the things you do.
I know what to expect.
Thanks,
Arjan

Arjan, if and when you decide to undertake this chore...by all means snap some good digital pics in the process - especially when changing out the rear bearings!!
Thanks. <img src="graemlins/burnout.gif" border="0" alt="[burnout]" />
